The Intro #8: We love making big plans

Happy New Year, friends!

Over here at Swell+Good, we are goals people. We love making big plans.

We spend weeks creating calendars (and buying calendars, too. It’s a problem.). And we are all about vision and dreams.

So unsurprisingly, this season has us EXCITED. And we hope you feel the same way. (We also hope you got some much deserved REST over the holidays!)

Here’s our challenge for you: use this slower fundraising season to dream — and then plan out how you’ll bring those dreams to life.

This week, we’ve got tricks and tools to help you do just that. And as always, let us know if we can help with anything! Content calendars, project tracking, campaign strategies — they’re our jam. We’d love to answer any questions you have, help you brainstorm, or talk through your 2020 plans with you — just shoot us an email!

The Intro #7: You crushed it

Here’s what you need to know: you crushed it. You planned and produced and wrote and designed. You built beautiful campaigns and made compelling asks. You put in the work.

So while the year isn’t quite over yet, the hard part is. All that’s left is watching gifts come in, saying thank you (a lot), encouraging your team, and starting to make plans for 2020.

So grab a coffee (speaking of…congrats to our coffee giveaway winner last week, Kelsey!), take a deep breath, and get ready to close out 2019 with enthusiasm, gratitude, and joy.

Next week, we’ll be enjoying the holidays with our families (and hope that you are making time to rest, too. It matters. A lot.), so we’ll see you back on January 2 with everything you need to vision-cast and plan for a great new year.

The Intro #6: Seek out the light

Good morning, team!

In our neck of the woods, it’s cold and dark and very much winter. So we are doing everything we can to seek out the light — both literally and figuratively.

What are the great things happening around you? Take one minute to think of 3 awesome bright spots right now. What are you proud of? What made you smile in the last 48 hours?

There is always something to celebrate. Even in the thick of it.

Now onward — we’ve got 19 more days to close out 2019 with energy, enthusiasm, and strength.

The Intro #5: Celebration matters

Consider this your virtual high five.

You made it through Giving Tuesday! Congratulations!

While the rest of the world gets overwhelmed by inbox traffic and social media posts (and hopefully feels super inspired to give, too!), we know that that you are hustling. Giving Tuesday is no joke for rockstar nonprofit folks like you. We see you. We’re proud of you. And no matter what your outcomes are so far, you did the thing — and that deserves celebrating.

Speaking of celebrating — we should all do more of it, don’t you think? So here’s your challenge today: celebrate something or someone. Tell a colleague why you appreciate her. Write a thank you note. Take a moment to acknowledge something you’re proud of.

Celebration matters.

And this week, we’re celebrating you.

The Intro #4: Feeling overwhelmed?

Hello friends! Is anyone else feeling a little bit (or a lot a bit) overwhelmed this week? Just us?

Not to worry! We’ve collected a few great insights and resources to make your life, your work, and your fundraising a little bit easier and more effective.

Next Thursday is Thanksgiving, so we’ll be taking the day off to practice the

Attitude of Gratitude in real life with our people. We encourage you to do the same. Say thank you. Often and much. It’s a great way to deal with even the craziest work days. (Trust us. We’ve tested it!)

And guess what’s definitely on our gratitude list this year? YOU! Writing to this ever-growing community of readers has been so much fun for us — and we hope that you’re enjoying it too!
